TakeHome provides clear educational U.S. take-home pay estimates for comparing job offers and moves across states.
What we do
We offer a browser-based annual estimate covering federal ordinary income tax, selected state income tax, and employee FICA, plus side-by-side offer comparison and state landing pages with local context.
Results are for general education and comparison only. They are not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for your employer paycheck or a filed return.
Who we are
TakeHome is an independent educational project operated by the TakeHome team.
We are not a CPA firm, payroll provider, or government agency, and we are not affiliated with the IRS or state tax authorities.
How the calculator works
Paycheck math is designed to run in your browser. We do not upload ordinary salary form inputs to our servers solely to perform that calculation.
We expose an annual ordinary income-tax estimate. Per-period figures are that annual result averaged across your selected pay frequency—not a prediction of any specific paycheck. Employer withholding under IRS Publication 15-T is out of scope.
Coverage and limits
We currently support a limited set of states with coverage tiers (verified, provisional, or federal-only). Provisional states include directional estimates and on-screen warnings about known omissions.
