2. What this policy covers

This policy covers visits to the site, use of the paycheck calculator, analytics, preference storage, hosting and security logs, and messages you send us.

3. Calculator inputs

Paycheck calculations are designed to run in your browser. We do not upload ordinary calculator form inputs (such as salary amounts you type) to our servers solely to perform that calculation.

Do not enter sensitive personal data you are not comfortable using in a browser-based educational tool. We do not ask for Social Security numbers or similar identifiers.

4. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may process:

• Usage analytics via Vercel Web Analytics, such as page paths, referring sources, device type, and approximate location derived from technical signals. We use this to improve the site. We do not send calculator salary inputs as analytics event properties.
• Product funnel events (for example calculator viewed, first edit, completed estimate, compare enabled, and CTA clicks). Event properties are limited to low-sensitivity enums such as state code, locale, UI placement, coverage tier, and field name—never salary or deduction amounts.
• Technical logs and security signals needed to host and protect the site (for example through our hosting provider).
• Preference data such as theme or locale stored in your browser (for example localStorage or similar technologies).
• Communications you send us (such as your email address and message content) when you contact info@takehome.space.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for preferences (such as language or theme) and for standard hosting, security, or analytics operation of the site.

We use the information above to operate and improve TakeHome, keep the site secure, understand aggregate traffic, and respond to your messages.

We do not sell calculator salary inputs, and we do not use those inputs to build marketing profiles.

We share information with service providers that help us run the site—primarily hosting and analytics via Vercel—under their terms and privacy policies.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the site, users, or our rights.

8. Retention

Analytics and technical logs are retained according to our providers’ defaults and what we need for security and product improvement.

Contact emails are kept as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and maintain basic records.

TakeHome is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
